The TV movie “Conspiracy” (featuring Stanley Tucci and Kenneth Branagh, among others) really hit me when i saw it – putting a relatively human face on the conference where the Nazi brass rolled out the “Final Solution.”
Some have reservations. Others are repulsed. Others are cartoonishly evil (Ian MacNiece, of course – Baron Harkonnen himself!). But the underlying premise of The Jewish People Need To Be Removed is never in question, the only question is coldly logical: How should it be done?
I should have said: It’s available on Amazon Prime (and i think HBO Now). It has some great monologues by great actors – i recall Colin Firth giving it his all in one speech in particular. And, speak of the devil: Tucci plays Eichmann.
Obviously in the Sopranos universe Lorraine Bracco’s character in Goodfellas would be played by Debra Winger.
Or Annette Bening.
Annette Bening! That would create even more folds in the matter of the universe!

I hate to be that guy but i’ve gotta say that elem klimov’s “come and see” from 85 is a notable omission from the movies listed in this episode. I hope that David and Tyler discuss that movie one day as its extremely powerful. it’s like the ravenous of ww2/holocaust movies.
