I would like you to have explained your choices a little bit, I am particularly puzzled by your choice of Frank Darabont, who to me is a very Spielberg-y director.

Overall, I like your choices a lot, but I cringed at your casting of Chloe Moretz, who quite frankly has that effect on me every time she’s cast in something, does nobody know there are other better girl actresses around??

I picked Darabont because of THE MIST and the pilot for THE WALKING DEAD. I felt that you need somebody that can handle a little bit of spectacle, but is also able to handle suspense and violence fairly well.
As for Chloe Moretz, I feel that she has a bit of an edge to her and would be able to embrace the intensity required for as dark a movie as I have in my head.

      • Conrado says:

I can see the Darabont pick now. The thing is when I think of Darabont I usually think of ‘Shawshank’ and ‘Green Mile’, but now that you mention those entries in his filmography I can totally see where you’re coming from.

As for Moretz, I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree.

    Please, more of this.

  3. Franco says:

    You gotta tell us why

I don’t want to over explain myself. I’d much rather you guys try to figure out what I’m trying to accomplish based simply on my choices.
Also, by the way, you are all welcome to cast it yourselves, as well.

all i want, is a velociraptor, and then muldoon picks up a bazooka and blasts it with a rocket propulsion grenade, and it ‘splodes, and the claw flicks one or twice b/c the muscles are still twitching. Now that would justify a remake

Earth2.net JUST did the same thing, remaking Jurassic Park casting choices….coincidence?

  6. Aaron McMahon says:

I remember Hammond being more villainous in the Crichton book than the movie (probably because Attenborough is such a lovable grandpa). Has Broadbent ever played a villainous role?

How about Charles Dance, Alan Rickman, Ted Danson or Kevin Kline?

    • Battleship Pretension says:

I picked Broadbent precisely because he could capture the deceitful yet charming side of Hammond. And while most people are well aware of Broadbent’s more charming roles, there are several that suggest he can play malevolence quite well. Such as:

      GANGS OF NEW YORK
      NICHOLAS NICKLEBY
      LITTLE VOICE
      HOT FUZZ
