    That’s why the racial composition of a police force doesn’t seem to affect the rate of shootings. However, other studies have found that female officers are more likely to shoot:

    If you want to argue there’s a general problem with cops being trigger happy, that’s another story, and I would note that does vary a lot across police departments.

      Interesting point about white cops and black cops showing similar levels of discrimination. But my point isn’t just about shootings. Things like “stop and frisk” disproportionately targeted citizens of color, as do quotas for tickets, arrests, etc. (as explored in last year’s documentary Crime + Punishment).
