Crossover episode with Annie Russell (@anniemrussell) and her podcast No Chill with Annie Russell (@nochillvermont) talking about movies we are not chill about: Chasing Amy, Across the Universe, and the Star Wars prequels.
Chasing Amy is tough, because I genuinely feel like Smith is trying to work some personal issues out with good intentions, but that ending (where Affleck proposes a three-way) feels SO poorly thought out. I just never felt like his character would actually think of or want to do that. It’s one of those movies I remember liking a ton in junior high/high school, but I can admit is deeply flawed and more than a bit icky now.
I agree. Similar to the Donkey Show scene in Clerks 2. Just why? Crude for the sake of crude.
I actually had to bite my tongue a lot in this episode because CA is still one of my fav Kevin Smith movies.
