In 1973, Martin Scorsese accidentally redefined the gangster genre with his third feature, Mean Streets. While it was that film that put his name on the map, it is the countless classics he later created that forever placed him as a master of cinema. Working with frequent collaborators, such as Robert De Niro, Paul Schrader and Thelma Schoonmaker, he has created many of cinemas most memorable characters and films.
