32. Danny Boyle
SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, TRAINSPOTTING, A LIFE LESS ORDINARY, 127 HOURS
Exploring just about every cinematic genre known to man, Danny Boyle is one of the few filmmakers who effectively blurs the line between journeyman and auteur. While his style is consistently hyper-frenetic, it is never in favor of storytelling. Marking his place as an important filmmaker with his second film, Trainspotting, he has lived up this promise with each new film he directs. From the incredibly underrated sci-fi epic, Sunshine, to his beautiful family film Millions, Boyle has worked and mastered almost every genre he works in.
