Portal!
I know that game, and the song Jackie spoke of.
“Wisconsin. My state is on fire, politically.
…
And it’s full of idiots.”
🙂
It was nice to hear Jackie Kashien on the podcast. I saw her stand-up special on Comedy Central years ago. Haddent seen any new material from her that I thought she fell off the earth.
Also I liked the fact she brought up Portal, because it and it’s sequel may be the greatest games ever made, no hyperbole. Portal 2 is especially great because it features J. K. Simmons in what might be one of the funniest roles of his career. His character, founder and CEO of Apperature Science Cave Johnson, never appears on screen. He exists only as a series of pre-recorded messages, which play at the beginning and end of each stage. Even with that limited presence it still paints a picture of a brazen, self-assured individual, who’s a callous disregard for the welfare of his employees and foolhardy attitude leads to his own and his companies downfall. You can listen to a lot of his sound bytes right here:
