What makes Ferris Bueller stick out from the other suave masters of young, dorky male fantasy is that, at the end of the day, he’s not infallible and not quite as clever as he thinks he is. He leaves his best friend with a totaled car and only escape the principal with the help of his sister. He’s still one of the coolest guys in cinema, made all the more so by the fact that he’s a little bit human.
