73. Alfonso Cuaron
ALFONSO CUARON
Y TU MAMA TAMBIEN, CHILDREN OF MEN, HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN
At an early age, it was Alfonso Cuaron’s unique way of story telling that helped push my love for film into an obsession. His beautiful coming-of-age film Y Tu Mama Tambien was a favourite of mine, and pushed me to explore the rest of his short, but impressive catalogue. His first film, Solo Con Tu Pareja, is a comedy about AIDS and is the perfect summarization for his approach to filmmaking. It features beautiful cinematography, great performances and a unique approach to a great story. Along with his cinematographer, Emmanuel Lubezki, Cuaron has given us some of the most beautifully shot films of the last twenty years.

Where is “A Little Princess” on the notable films list? Certainly one of the best family films I’ve ever seen.
