Tyler’s irritation over the use of historical figures in “The Harder They Fall” reminds me of “The Aeronauts” (which I never saw). The director said he inserted Felicity Jones’ composite character in the place of the guy who was actually piloting in the balloon (Henry Coxwell) in order to represent women like Sophie Blanchard who pioneered ballooning. My reaction at the time was “Why not just make her Sophie Blanchard?” because then at least the character could be more specific. But then that might irritate people who react similarly to Tyler to seeing a real person inserted into events they had nothing to do with.

I haven’t seen “Wolf” and might not like it, but not all films need to use allegory like “The Crucible”. Maybe it’s ok if viewers have mixed feelings about characters with species dysphoria?

The White Tiger! I also think this movie is great and was dismayed by how it seemed to come and go virtually unnoticed. It’s hard to recall a movie that’s more watchable, moment-to-moment in recent years. I’m not quite sure the sardonic ending completely lands like it should but it’s one of my favorites of the year for sure
