This is a great review, man. I think the grain of salt with which I read Armond White sometimes prevents me from taking his complaints seriously enough. This made a lot of sense to me, though.
I still think it’s the best movie of the year so far, though. And I still think the absence of any redeemable white character is important. For too many of us (white people), the one redeemable character in such a story is enough to keep us complacent and lying to ourselves that we aren’t ever part of the problem.
