I actually think there’s something pretty damn subversive and punk rock about a gay romance movie like Love Simon being as cookie cutter and unchallenging as any old straight romance.

Fun Fact: When he first started directing music videos, Director X actually went by the name Little X.

Is your support for Superfly down to you being a “woke” SJW?

Heard nothing but shit about the film. trailer looks terrible. this Superfly should also have a racial appropriation sticker on the poster. In the original Superfly isn’t black he’s mixed race.

Let me guess…you spent 2009-2016 telling everyone that Obama was only half black?

Most of the time I go to the theater is through advances passes from the AV Club, with their review of the film often appearing the next day (prior to the film’s release that weekend). There will be the separate sections as described, but this isn’t just for blockbusters. I think there are actually more of these for indie films.

Tom Breihan marks the beginning of the modern action movie with Bullitt.

I saw 2001 in a theater for the first time a few weeks ago and my main takeaway is that the film is LOUD. Much of the audience (including me) had to block our ears during parts. There were no technical problems when I saw it.
