Thank you Tyler for sharing your screaming-at-the-wheel story. I dropped off Bojack Horseman halfway through season 2 but will resume immediately. Successful and convincing depictions of self-loathing and depression are few and far between. My nearest depressed self-loather especially enjoyed Melancholy and the comedy of Maria Bamford, as do I. You might not need words of comfort from anonymous strangers on the internet but your podcast with David is one of the handful I still listen to every week after sampling and discarding scores of others. You do it right, young man.

    Melancholia, not Melancholy.

On the bullet discussion: bullets aren’t even powerful enough te make people fall down when they’re shot. Most people who are shot just keep standing if they’re not badly hurt. Though movies did change that: people often fall back because they’ve seen characters do that in movies and think that’s what happens; that’s how strong that image is in people’s minds.
