Tyler, I’d recommend North by Northwest next from that set. When I first saw it I thought it was very good, but re-watching it on blu-ray was a revelation. Such a gorgeous looking movie, restoration.
I don’t understand that pic. Is Scorch acting as his own counsel? Come on, Scorch. Get it together.
A lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client.
I think it’s overstating it to say Man In The Machine is a “hatchet job”. The movie opens with him more or less professing his love for Steve Jobs and the things he made. He spends a lot of the time validating the best things people have said about Jobs. And when the starts cracking down on the guy in the later part, at times it’s like a montage of newspaper stories that a lot of people are already familiar with.
I got the impression early on that this was going to be another apologia for Steve and everything he did, because for a while it was. Interviews with people who worked or slept with him and how no matter how evil his actions were, they still gave excuses for his behavior. When the film starts coming down on Steve, it changes from that mode to being more like a survey of his already infamous hellraising.
Really, what there needs to be is a movie that has the imagination and the insight to figure out how to really condemn the guy for real.
