Comic-Con 2015: Cartoon Network: Adventure Time and Steven Universe

The biggest thing I learned during the Adventure Time/Steven Universe panel is that, at least among the Comic-Con devout, the latter has overtaken the former in popularity. When it came time for the Q&A, Adventure Time was all but ignored in favor of some really complex and interesting questions about strength and gender identity for the Steven Universe panelists. And the clip/music video they showed got an uproarious response. I don’t watch the show but now I feel like I should.

As for Adventure Time, what we did get was great. Olivia Olson and Rebecca Sugar debuted a newnew Marceline song live. We saw a clip from an upcoming stop-motion episode in which Finn, Jake, BMO and Lumpy Space Princess learn of a coming storm and resolve to build a shelter. And we got confirmation that Me-Mow will return next season (that last one is for diehards only but I must admit I’m excited). Moderator Bobby Moynihan was funny. The panelists were lively. Prizes were given away. And I gotta go watch Steven Universe.
