Comic-Con 2015: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2

Lionsgate’s Hunger Games panel got off to an exciting start, with a drum corps marching through Hall H. After that, though, it was a tad flat. I miss the days when Comic-Con panels for movies used to feature some exclusive scenes. Now it’s all trailers. It doesn’t give you any idea of the movie other than the idea the studio wants you to have. So the trailer was fine. Guest moderator Conan O’Brien was more shackled than I would have expected. And the cast seems to like each other. But apart from a funny moment when Jennifer Lawrence dissed crossbows, it was a largely dry affair. Of course, I’m still excited for the movie. And the mere fact of the panel is welcome in a year when so many studios are skipping the convention.
