The opening segment about religion and what-not was quite great! I know you guys have talked about this stuff before but whatever reason, this discussion really hit home for me this time in particular.
Great episode and, if I can make it about me for one second, just what I wanted and needed to hear!
I’m curious: What is the name of this geology professor fellow? I would like to befriend him.
Interesting topic, I think that if you see more movies that you like it means you know yourself pretty well and are able to pick the right films for you. So it’s definitely a good thing.
This was a terrific episode. And the two main topics discussed worked especially well, I thought. The religion discussion underscored the importance of considering someone else’s point of view, and the meat of the episode–especially when discussing Ebert–highlighted (for me) the value of hearing someone out. Even when I disagreed with Ebert, he was a good writer and it was usually enlightening to hear him make his case, regardless of if it was completely persuasive.
This one made me want to talk nerdy with my film friends. Thanks guys!
Is anyone else having audio issues with this specific episode?
About an hour or so in it loops back, repeats a segment (when Tyler talks about his high school teacher), then stops. I’ve tried downloading and playing it on several Android podcast apps and the episode does the same thing on each. I have still yet to hear the full episode because of the glitch… Anyone else have this problem?

Mike, I came to the comments to ask the same thing. I was listening to this episode, missed something, tried to back up, and it went to the 9 second mark before stopping completely.
I first noticed it when there was a duplicate download of the last episode (the make-up one with Doug Jones). I tried to skip around that one to see if there was anything new at the beginning or end, because it was a slightly different length than the original download. That duplicate did the same thing as this episode, if you tried to move forward/backward, it was jump to a random spot then abruptly stop.
Also having the same issue. I don’t think it’s exactly looping. I think if you play it through without pausing it would play. But when you pause it just comes back at a random point.

Not a problem. Once I stopped fiddling with it, it just played straight through, like Julia said.
My MP3 player (SanDisk Clip Zip) turns off when I try to play this episode. I had to re-encode the MP3 file on my computer.
I’m just curious, has this issue been resolved yet? I listen on my ipod and I tried downloading the episode directly, but even that’s not working
