I hope you all mention how wild it is that he is married to Maya Rudolph. Power couple.
Isn’t Tyler the PTA superfan? It would’ve been nice if you had waited for him. Personally, my favorite movie of his is Magnolia. The way you described it as just a collection of moments that didn’t come together would be exactly how I would describe Inherent Vice, which I would say is easily his worst movie. Just a complete mess, only kept barely aloft by some great performances.
Inherent Vice has a cadence and rhythm that gels in a way Magnolia didn’t for me.

David, you should really rewatch Boogie Nights! Out of every movie you’re not a fan of, it’s the one that seems the most like a “David” movie. I think it flows great, and is extremely entertaining and great throughout. Along with Dazed and Confused, it’s the movie I can watch anytime and still love.
I’ll make it a priority!

Also, Punch-Drunk Love was also the one that got me truly into Anderson. As a budding film-buff, I had seen There Will Be Blood, and loved it. Then I watched Punch-Drunk Love, and thought “Wow, who is this director? He’s amazing!” Totally changed me as a cinephile.
