about 15 minutes in, been meaning to watch Boxer’s Omen for a few months now. Josh’s endorsement spurred me to order a DVD.
Josh on every show please
I must admit that I’ve given Josh Fadem grief in the comments sections before, but when he gets to talk about things he actually likes, he’s a joy to listen to.
He’s always a joy to listen to, it blows my mind that anyone takes issue with him. Because he’s too flip? He doesn’t take the right movies seriously? He’s very funny and always has something valuable to add; I don’t get the hate at all.
For me, the difference is that on episodes like this, he’s contributing to the discussion and I can hear his enthusiasm and his love for film. As opposed to the summer movie episodes, which devolve into him shouting “boring!” every few minutes. Don’t get me wrong, I get it, I share many of Josh’s concerns and frustrations at the state of modern movies. Specifically, that every year blockbuster season feels more and more like something to endure rather than enjoy. However, I just can’t connect when Josh gets negative and dismissive; I don’t think it helps and I don’t find it entertaining to listen to.
That being said, I cannot state strongly enough that an engaged and positive Josh Fadem is great. More, please!
Catching up on my podcast listening and finally made it to this episode. I love Josh Fadem on the show. Although, every time he is a guest I do wish I had his phone number so I could text him follow up questions.
