Just wanted to drop in my semiannual reminder to David that he still hasn’t seen David Mackenzie’s best film, Perfect Sense.

David Gordon Green’s Halloween is not a sequel to Halloween 2, just the original Halloween.

Did David review “Men, Women & Children” on this site? I don’t think it was quite as disliked as “Labor Day”, but David does indeed seem to be unusual in his opinion.

Does Buster Keaton’s “Young Sherlock” count as a purely comedic Sherlock Holmes movie?

    • Battleship Pretension says:

No, I didn’t catch up with Men, Women & Children until it was already out. And Keaton’s not actually playing Sherlock in that movie so I don’t think it would count.

Under the Silver Lake was already released in some European countries, and it was pretty well received critically but is not doing too well commerically. I’m afraid moving the American release to december is not a vote of confidence. Word on the street here is that they may have moved it because they want to make a shorter cut for the US (the version playing here is about 140 minutes).

I’ve never listened to your podcast til today, and I made it through this one at work all morning and it was glorious! I love how you have differing opinions and just leave it at that; opinions are just opinions and we’re allowed to differ, and you’re super cool for all having such a diverse set of preferences.

Anyway, count me as a new dedicated listener after this. Y’all are great.
