thanks for the Micheal Douglas digression – i’m always reminded of Ebert’s quote about his era in his career where “Douglas starts the movie in a suit & tie, but by the end of the movie he’s got an axe in his hand.”
The only movie i thought of that you didn’t mention is Ikiru, which is more “Legacy/Waste your Life” – but is also somewhat true-to-life if you’ve ever had a coworker die (you feel bad/remember them for a week or two, but then it’s back to normal).
