    Another way one may consider movies culturally insignificant in a way that relates to your topic is when people include them in bios of things that they like. Frequently, they’ll just cite movies as an interest, but in a way that doesn’t give any thought to them at all. It’s as if saying they also eat, sleep, and breathe. Movies become a generic interest, something that’s more of a time-filler than something they think about. If you ask them about it as an interest, they don’t really have much of a response other than a non-committal “I like horror movies” or “whatever’s on Netflix”.
