Robert De Niro’s The Good Shepherd is a Cold War film that has stuck with me since I saw it in theaters. It’s good, not great. I do find it fascinating that it is one of two movies that he has directed as well as an against type lead performance from Matt Damon.
Weirdly a cold war movie that came out just this last week is superman red sun where superman’s ship lands in soviet Russia and hes raised by the state and becomes a symbol for communism. It goes through ages with the cold war and the Berlin wall as well. Its pretty good too and has an action scene where he fights an American superman clone who shouts McCarthy type slogans
You didn’t mention TV, which contains some recent relevant examples like “The Americans” and “Deutschland 83”.
