that slashfilm headline/tweet is not a spoiler. it’s one thing that happens in the first episode, and it’s not crucial – it’s flavor. Anyone who’s critical of that level of ‘spoiler’ are probably teh same people who cover their eyes & ears during movie previews
but it’s another thing for someone in your FB feed to just mention a major spoiler – people who use FB might be scrolling/using it for any number of reasons and don’t expect it to be a source of spoilers. You can mute Slashfilm (or whomever) on Twitter. FB? Not so much.
The person who posted could’ve posted the same sentiment in a way that didn’t give anything away. Especially now that streaming stuff might be available at 9:00pm the night before most people watch it, it’s pretty rude to mention major details before most reasonable people would’ve seen it
I just think that, once an episode has aired/streamed, anything about it stops being a “spoiler” in the traditional sense. If something has aired and you don’t want to know about it, stay away from social media until you watch it.

maybe pre-TiVo. or if it’s a big “event” like the GoT finale. but the 9th episode in a 10-ep season? nope
by which i mean: if you want to post a reaction to a show *night-of* the airing, just make it generic enough as to not spoil plot points. or put a SPOILER and a bunch of carriage returns at the top, so folks see it in time to skip
I think you and I are just on different pages about this since I’m ultimately someone who a) doesn’t think spoilers are a huge deal and b) doesn’t find it hard to stay away from social media for long stretches of time. Maybe what I’m really saying is be more like me!

hey David – I wanted to check out your new podcast but it’s not coming up for me in Apple Podcasts or Downcast. The link below is the only place i could find it, just fyi

For some reason, Apple takes longer to approve than other places. It will be there soon, though!
