  1. I coincidentally just saw this last night and I agree with most everything you’ve said. I think it relies too much on being “based on a true story” and coasts on that fact during its dramatic moments. I enjoyed most of the film, but the ending scenes feel really cluttered, overly-dramatic without any real impact on me. Also, the “double life” stuff really wasn’t handled well at all and too broadly comedic.

    And ***SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS*** I HATE it when true-story films when they present characters dying in shady circumstances and then have the “no foul play was discovered” post-script. It’s so manipulative in validating the character when they maybe just died because they were bad drug addicts.
