I Do Movies Badly: Trapped in Paradise
Trapped in Paradise may not be a great film – it may not even be a particularly good film – but it’s quite a solid Christmas film if you, unlike Roger Ebert, can overlook all the police car crashes.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from I Do Movies Badly! See you all in 2019!
I watched this numerous times as a youngster without any idea it was so critically reviled. I guess it doesn’t make sense that a small town would have numerous squad cars to dispose of, but that didn’t occur to me at the time. I thought Dana Carvey was hilarious, although fortunately that did not lead me to watch “Master of Disguise” later. I think this was the first thing I saw Nicolas Cage in, though as the straight-man he wasn’t as memorable as the brothers from SNL.
