During the last podcast, David had mentioned good/great movies that go bad. That sounds like a good topic for an upcoming podcast.

Actually, on second thought, that sounds like an incredibly depressing topic. Nevermind.

    Hey guys, love the show.

Leaving a comment on the internet these days is like pissing in the ocean but I just have make a comment about “episode 268 – Moralizing” — David is a fucking idiot in this episode and Tyler is right about most of the things.

Lisbeth Salander has been fucked over in her entire life and she just gives the evildoers the medicine they deserve – “evil shall with evil be expelled”. She is disturbed because her surrounding has been disturbing her. And yes – she is a superhero that says “I will not just take this shit for the rest of my life”.

The original title of the book is called “Män som hatar kvinnor” (Swedish) and that means “Men who hates women”.

David. You are very, very, very wrong. I’m done pissing now.

Btw, BP is my favourite podcast of all time.

Great podcast! However, your “Paradise Love review” episode won’t download for me. iTunes is giving the “error = 404” reason, which I believe has something to with the settings on your server. I am able to download all other episodes.

    Thanks for your assistance.

    Best regards,

    Re: Sequelcast

    Hello,

I’m a brand-new listener and I made it through 3 episodes so far. I like the idea of the podcast and the discussion. I do have a complaint, though, and it’s about the sound. One of the co-hosts sounds as if he’s sitting away from the microphone – his sound level is quiet and slightly muffled. The other co-host, who sounds like he’s on Skype or on a phone, his sound comes off very loud and distorted.

So, while listening to the those three podcasts so far, Airport, Airport 75, and Airport 77, I had to keep adjusting the volume on my computer. Maybe some sound-leveling before posting each episode? Maybe the quieter co-host could speak more directly into the microphone?

Anyway, I don’t want to be a negative Nelly, as I really enjoyed the talk, just want to provide feedback.

    Cheers!

I don’t know if you accept suggestions for topics, but recently I’ve watching a lot of Chinese Fifth Generation films and I think it would make an interesting topic for discussion.
They’re very different films between themselves, but culturally and socially they had a significant impact.
I begun this cycle à propôs de “Coming Home”, by Yimou Zhang.

    Hey guys,

I first heard you on Comedy Film Nerds and I’ve been listening to BP ever since. I teach a high school Film class and am currently attempting to complete a challenge of watching 7 movies a weekly and writing a review for each one. My degree is originally in Mass Communications. I was curious how your writers are selected for the site.

Hello. My name is Timmy Henriksson and I am a fucking asshole piece of shit. Yes, that’s right. I said it. Now, let’s get down to business:

I am from Africa, the northern scandinavian country in the east of the Pacific, and in the village I grew up in, we didn’t have Coke machines or computers. We had AIDS. That’s what we had to play around with. Giving it to one another like a game of “tag”. TAG, your it! You know that game? Good. Well. My point is… Battleship Pretension is my favourite podcast.

Thank you Tyler and David for a great show! Recently discovered this via More than one lesson. Probably one of the very few people who first discovered MTOL before BP.

Tyler: loved the Avatar episode and your other work at MTOL. First discovered MTOL while searching for Captain Philips podcasts.

BP: really enjoying this also. Wayne Federman is hilarious.

You guys know about Critics Round Up? Maybe try to get the guy behind that on the show? Seems he might have some interesting thoughts about film criticism.

Happy holidays to you both from a listener in Rome, Italy!

    Tyler and David,

As you guys do a profile every 10 episodes, I wanted to ask, have you ever considered doing one on Samuel Fuller? Through the aid of Filmstruck (and other streaming services), I’ve recently become acquainted with his filmography, and must say, it is astonishing. I’d love to hear your and David’s opinions on such movies as “The Naked Kiss,” “White Dog,” “Shock Corridor,” “The Steel Helmet,” and many many more.

Another filmmaker I’d be curious to hear your opinion on is Nicholas Ray. Filmstruck recently added Bigger Than Life, which quite frankly blew me away.

I understand that because there are so many great filmmakers, it would be impossible to cover all of them on Battleship Pretension. However, at the very least, I’m curious to know what you think of the above two.

I hope everything is well, and will continue following the exploits of Battleship Pretension.

    Yonah
