I still agree with highschool-Anthony: guitar, bass and drums is where it’s at. So punk and grunge pass the bar, but stuff like Depeche Mode sounds cold and inhuman. Sometimes that’s the effect you want in a film score, but I would otherwise avoid listening to it. I won’t go pure rockist: there’s good jazz, folk and classical. But if the genre wasn’t invented over a deade before I was born, it’s probably not good 🙂
