Sequelcast 2: A Nightmare on Elm Street
Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi and William Thrasher talk the original A Nightmare on Elm Street from 1984. A group of high school students start getting picked off one by one by a ghoulish man in their nightmares named Fred Krueger (Robert Englund). As they put together pieces of the puzzle, they discover Krueger’s twisted relationship to their parents and try to defeat him. Featuring a darker tone and less puns than other films in the series, A Nightmare on Elm Street can be a bit of an odd duck if you only know the character from one of the many sequels.
Thrasher thought the characters in the recent live-action Beauty and the Beast film from Disney were overdone. Mat enjoys The Little Hours, an odd medieval comedy starring Aubrey Plaza, Dave Franco, and Kate Micucci.
