Years before John McClane would smarm his way through a hostage crisis, Indiana Jones was the original exasperated action hero. Whether running panicked from a boulder or shooting the guy with the big sword, Indy always did pretty much what you or I would have done in the same situation. The set pieces may be grand but the character is refreshingly grounded.
