I’m so glad that Friday the 13th isn’t on this list at all
I find the absence of Jacob’s Latter extremely disappointing.
*spoilers*
Good pick, though I honestly wouldn’t have put it on my top ten. Most trippy, horror-surreal films have fantastic beginnings and ok endings, and I’d include Jacob’s Ladder in that category. Though that could be my personal dislike of “dead the whole time” twists.
I agree with Tyler in that I just watched The Shining and while I do like it, I didn’t find it to be all that scary.
I wish I would’ve participated in this list. The two films that stick out to me that didn’t make the cut are the original Black Christmas (1974) , and The Strangers.
All 10 of mine made the cut, and my top 3 are the same as the list’s top 3 (in the same order too), so I guess I’m pretty happy with the list.
I had 2 not make the list. Candyman (which I am actually quite disappointed missed the cut) and A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (which I knew was never going to make it but I love that movie so much I couldn’t leave it off). Horror movies are my cinematic comfort food and I would say that I am overall pretty pleased with the list.
