I think snobbishness is not about highbrow tastes or expertise, but about your attitude toward others. For example I don’t think someone who’s a connoisseur of French New Wave cinema and hates Marvel movies is a snob on that basis alone. However, the second they talk down to someone who likes Marvel or someone who doesn’t know French New Wave, then they are a snob.

I think this is a good definition and a good way for us potential snobs to check ourselves.
