Scott’s taste is so idiosyncratic and hard to pin down.. seems like most of his time on the show is spent explaining why he didn’t particularly like a widely loved film — or explaining why something nobody liked is actually pretty good. I don’t think he’s just a contrarian and of course he has the right to his opinions… but critically it’s of little use

Scott may be using a different rubric than most film watchers but I definitely think there’s a consistency to his point of view.
