Battleship Pretension is a film discussion show and a film review website founded by Tyler Smith and David Bax. Beginning in March 2007, Battleship Pretension the show (known to fans simply as “BP”) embodies the type of laidback, free-flowing conversations had by lovers of film around the world. Battleship Pretension the website is dedicated to being a destination for those seeking worthwhile opinions on current releases, be they foreign, independent, studio pictures, theatrical, home video releases, etc. From its meager beginnings in Los Angeles, Battleship Pretension has amassed a worldwide audience and readership. From Germany to Korea to Australia, people have tuned in to share in Tyler and David’s love of film. As Battleship Pretension’s following continues to grow, the purpose remains the same: Reach out to the international cinephile community, invite them to join in the discussion and perhaps even start one of their own.
Once again, a real delight to hear the team back together. And while I tend to be unsentimental, dammit, that story about Dashiell really affected me. Thank you for sharing it.
Wishing you all the best for the new hospital. It sounds like it brings a lot of good things, and a lot of disadvantages. But I pray that it works out well for you.
I’m guessing recording episodes will be a challenge given the shared room, and if so that’s fine. It’s been great to hear from you in these past couple of shows, but if it’s not possible for the moment then we can wait. Just focus on continuing to get better for your family and friends.

I want to send my love to Tyler. I’m a guy in Montreal who’s been a listener for a long long time and I intend to keep listening for even longer. You genuinely have changed the way I think about movies and even softened the way my cynical atheist view on Christians. I just wish you the best, David the best, your family the best and want to add my name to the long list of strangers who’s lives you’ve changed.
